Quote of the day: "What your hand signal really said was- hit me from behind."

The quote was from one of the police officers.

Out on a training ride this AM before work on a regular route, and signalled the driver behind me that I was going to be making a right turn and for him to slow down. I started to make the right turn, heard tires skreech, and then I was sent into the air. I ended up landing on my back and head then then slide with some good road rash on my elbows, back, and left butt check. I got up, recollected myself, and pulled my bike out of the road. The driver, a young high school kid, approached me, appoligized, and said "I thought you were signalling me to go around you."

We waited for police and ambulance to come and I called Desiree as witnesses called 911. The adrenaline was kicking in as I didn't have much pain at the time except for my left inner quadricep. As I waited for Desiree and FHP to show up, the pain started to set in. I got my road rash cleaned and dressed by EMS but refused transport to the hospital. I then started noticing some neck pain when I turned my head. Thats the only reason for me to decide to go to the hospital as Desiree dropped me off.

At the hospital, I saw alot of familiar faces as is was coincidentally the hospital that I work at. We ended up getting X-Rays to the left knee and CT scans of my head, brain and neck. Everything came back negative and I was released with Rx for pain meds and muscle relaxors.

Desiree left her car parked at the ED for me to drive home and I relaxed the rest of the day. The toughest part was the shower. Alot of exposed nerve endings is never pleasent.

Now the soreness is really setting in, feeling stiff and moving slow. Bumps and bruises, strains and pains. Hopefully I don't feel too bad tomorrow morning, but fortunately I am taking tomorrow off as well. I didn't get my Rx filled. Hopefully I won't regret that decision tomorrow.

Thanks to all those that are caring and thinking about me, and a special thanks to Desiree for tending to me and my needs.

Sunday Sessions

Yesterday was as awesome day. It started with Palm Sunday mass with Anh Vu and Darcey. After mass, we all headed towards Leu Gardens. A first time exploration for us all. The particular location was picked because our caterer was hosting a private tasting for about 200 clients. This experience was to help us decide what dishes we would be serving to our guests at the wedding. Lots of great contenders. Some of the items were repeats from our initial tasting at the initial consultation. Fortunately, there is plenty of time to decide on food and there is another tasting event in a couple months!

Afterwards Desiree went to be pampered with hair and makeup. This was for our photography engagement session. The backdrop- universal's city walk. We wanted my bike and Desiree's quilt to make a cameo into the pictures. So we were spectical that security would let me take my bike through. However, they didn't even ask questions about the bike and let us through with any inquiry. We waited from our photographers, James and Chad, to arrive but received a phone call that they weren't allowed through security. Irony- no questions about a bike however not letting 2 guys pass through with camaeras. Policy about professional photographers prevented us from shooting at City Walk. No fret. We headed back to the car to head to relocate to downtown Disney. Before reaching our vehicles, Chad came up with a great idea of heading to the top of the parking garage and using that as canvas from shooting us with the bike.

more wedding planning

So things are going pretty well with the wedding planning. Since I last left you, we have booked our caterer and photographer.
We will be working with John Michael Catering and Pilster Photography with their associate James as lead photographer. We're schedule to have an engagement photo session with James this weekend and to have another private food tasting at Leu Gardens.
More to come!
