Vive Cadel Evans!
What an incredible month of July. The Tour de France was amazing this year. First of all, Congratulations to the Aussies and Cadel Evans of Team BMC. Cadel did an amazing job in covering attacks and holding his own.
My team Garmin-Cervelo was incredible. 7 days in yellow by Thor Hushovd
-Stage 2 Team time trial win and gaining the Yellow Jersey
-Stage 3 win sprint finish with Tyler Farrar dedicating his win to Wouter Weylandt on the 4th of July
-Stage 13 win by Thor Hushovd uphill sprint
-Stage 16 win by Thor Hushovd on mountain stage with Ryder Hesjedal 3rd
Other highlights:
-1st Tour de France stage win
-top 10 finish on nearly every stage
-team competition winner
Congratulations to Team Europcar and Thomas Voeckler. He held yellow for 11 days including Bastille Day. Amazing team support.
Also Congratulation to Team Leopard-Trek and the Schleck. Unfortunately this 3rd time finishing second. Andy showed amazing strength and whit, but in the end, this achilles heal- time trial teased out his weakness. Andy will have his time.
Finally, best of luck and speedy recovery to all those that were involved in crashes- serious display of courage from both Johnny Hoogerland and Juan Antonia Flecha. The 1st 9 days proved to be difficult to keep the 'rubber side down.'
Until next year for another of amazing cycling.
