Day 3- Le Parque Nacional, hiking, beach, yummy yummy dinner

Yet again we slept in...yeah right, woke up at 05:45 and sat on the balcony and enjoyed the sunrise. Moped around until heading down to breakfast.  We really got to enjoy of breakfast and delicious coffee and took our time listening to the america's 80s and 90s greatest hits. We had time to be lazy at the transport from the hotel to Manuel Antonio National Park was set to leave at 09:00.  We planned to be have about a 4 hour hike as the shuttle to return to the hotel was around 13:15 and 17:15. The park was only about 3 km away however gradients as steep as 27-30%

At the park, we hike following the main loop and all the off extension hiking routes. We got to see monkeys and crabs and raccoons and other native animals. We stopped at a beach that is infamous for brave raccoons and monkeys that will attempt to take your belongings with or without you present. We made it to the furthest point out and you can see from our balcony. The hike ended up being longe than expected and we  decided to walk back to the hotel. This was of course before I had some food to eat. Along the way home we saw a long path of ants heading one way, they were carrying leaves, and heading in the opposite direction they were going to fetch the leaves. By the time we got back to the hotel, cleaned up and decided about dinner it was past 17:00 and we opted not to take a can and walk to/from dinner. Luckily both last night and tonight, the rain held out.
We ended up at Le Agua Azul, and awesome restaurant that overlooks the pacific. What an awesome place. We found out the the owners were from South Carolina and came to Costa Rica for their honeymoon and decided to buy a restaurant. For our appetizer, we had chicken tortilla soup and for our meal Desiree- seared tuna and myself, chicken sandwich. Great portion size, great atmosphere and amazing delicious food! The soup was the best thing I have had dice being in Costa Rica, and the tuna for Desiree. We walked back with the time being only 19:00 and we called it a night relaxing in bed watching movies. Much deserved after walking and hiking for about 10 miles for very steep gradients and very sore butts from walking.
Looking forward to great fun tomorrow with horseback riding and ziplining.
